Geelong Baseball Centre
We’ve just completed a full renovation of Diamond One at the Geelong Baseball Centre for the City of Greater Geelong.
Delivered within a 50 day program, the project involved renovating the existing competition diamond and establishing a new playing surface to meet Major League Baseball performance standards.
The upgraded facility was required to host international pre-season training, including a visit from Korean Baseball Organisation team KT Wiz during their Australian training camp.
The outcome is a high performance baseball field delivered under significant time pressure, ready for international competition standard.
Scope of Works
The renovation of Diamond One at Geelong Baseball Field included:
- Removal of the old surface, including turf removal, 100mm topsoil and old skinned material removal;
- Reshaping of the base;
- Installation of a new irrigation system, drains and pits;
- A new pitching mound, bases, skins, 100mm rootzone, warning track and 40ft foul poles;
- And the installation of over 9,000m² of turf.
Post renovation, the team are responsible for the turf establishment and presentation for the international competition.
Since completion, we have continued to maintain the field to ensure it performs at the highest level for players, with regular turf management, irrigation monitoring, and surface care.
A Quality Outcome
Geelong Baseball Centre was successfully renovated, established and presented to an elite competition standard within the tight timeframe.
The exhibition game between KT Wiz and Melbourne Aces was successfully delivered, with KT Wiz securing a one-run victory.

The entire renovation and establishment period for Geelong Baseball Centre was limited to 50 days. This required tight subcontractor coordination and daily program optimisation.
INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Geelong Baseball Centre needed to perform to professional level expectations, suitable for international athletes and broadcast-ready presentation.
EVENT READINESS
The facility was required to host an exhibition match for KT Wiz and the Melbourne Aces demanding elite payability, consistent ball roll, safe traction and premium visual presentation.
