Field of Dreams

A newly constructed beverage facility in Queensland’s Ipswich is defined by the surrounding Corten screens, which are a wonderful showcase of First Nations culture.

Delivered for Richard Crookes Constructions on behalf of Suntory Oceania, we delivered this significant First Nations artwork, the Field of Dreams screens, a 90-metre-long artwork.

The project was constructed around an industrial beverage facility on a challenging sloped site. The surrounding screen installation was created by Yuggera Elder Uncle Eddie Ruska and local artist Aunty Kylie Hill, in collaboration with Nguluway Design Inc. This centrepiece tells a powerful visual story of the Yuggera people and their enduring spiritual connection to Country.

Vision and Brief

Field of Dreams was delivered as part of a new beverage manufacturing facility, where we were engaged to complete the full landscape scope alongside a precinct-wide First Nations inspired feature installation, in collaboration with Nguluway (Design Inc).

The vision was to embed cultural storytelling into the fabric of the site, where the result is a continuous and immersive artwork that moves through the landscape. The screens create a continuous visual narrative across the site. The large-scale installation serves not only as a visual statement, but as a meaningful acknowledgment of the land’s Traditional Owners and their stories.

What We Delivered

A defining feature of the project is the flowing arrangement of custom corten steel screens. The installation follows curved alignments, incorporates varying panel sizes, and stepped footing with the natural sloped landscape. Precision was critical throughout both fabrication and construction. Extensive detailing ensured each element aligned seamlessly, while custom support systems were developed to facilitate the installation.

The result is a dynamic structure that integrates seamlessly to the level changes within the landscape while maintaining visual consistency.

Safety and Execution

Safety was critical as the artwork spanned 90 metres and each screen segment weighed 200kg. Therefore, the installation required controlled lifting and careful coordination. The outcome is a landscape that balances functionality with cultural expression, showcases our ability to prioritise delivering reliable and precise operations for large-scale projects.

It was our pleasure to be involved in bringing this meaningful art to life.
